CAST OBJECTS

 

I have been casting a range of scientific/ medical equipment using latex to emphasise the impact that these objects have on our lives. My experimentation started by casting a petri dish, conical flask and a funnel. These experimentations led me on to develop more castings in latex of medical objects that had more intricate detailing.

 

As well as thinking about the general impact that these objects have on our lives, I also thought about the specific outcome that each object has on our bodies. The syringe either injects substances into our body or takes away substances from our body. I cast a syringe using red silicone to suggest blood, this was to reference how the blood is altered through the use of this item.
